Econ minister says changes Jan-Oct GDP decrease estimate to 1.9%
MOSCOW, Dec 19 (PRIME) -- The Economic Development Ministry has changed its estimate for the decrease of the gross domestic product (GDP) in January–October to 1.9% from 2.1%, Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said on Monday.
"It was stronger integration (between Russia and Belarus) that allowed us to boost trade and cushion the economic decline and consequences of sanctions,” Reshetnikov said.
“Our estimate for the 10 months is a 1.9% reduction (of the GDP)."
The previous estimate for the period was made at the end of November.
